My Students

In 6th grade English Language Arts we touch on all of the foundations of literature and informational texts, as well as poetry and drama. Our classroom is a place where my kiddos can come and feel safe in discovering their new knowledge. They ask questions and participate in in depth discussions about real world issues through text-to-world connections as they invent new ways to be productive and successful individuals.

These kids are 11-year-olds who are learning HOW to expand their minds through critical thinking and analysis.

It's a crucial time in their lives when their brains are developing the capacity to think "outside of the box", to think abstractly.

My Project

A wise person I know once said that a teacher's classroom walls shouldn't be bare. Kids will look around the room no matter what, so we might as well give them something educational and worthwhile to see!

These giant packs of paper will be used in class for anchor charts, friendly competitions, vocabulary relays, and so much more!

I can't wait! The best part about the paper is that it's super sticky and we can stick it up on our walls. This paper is sticky enough to actually STAY UP ALL YEAR! The beauty of that is that the kids can create their own anchor charts to help them remember their new information and their wandering eyes will see their progress every day.
