Help me give my students the Nespresso Deluxe Coffee Espresso Maker and Electric Milk Frother so they can have the opportunity to learn vocational skills at school by running a Coffee Bistro!
I love how dedicated and willing my students are to learn job skills and workplace readiness to be prepared for the workforce. The Nespresso coffee machine will allow students to learn various recipes and techniques of how to prepare hot and cold coffees, lattes, and cappuccinos. The electric milk frother will allow them to learn different temperatures and consistencies. The time clocks will allow them to practice writing and telling time.
The students will be creating a real business, so they will need to learn skills such as stocking items, checking expiration dates, taking orders, counting money, making change, engaging with customers, delivering orders, and making various types of coffees.
The coffee business will allow students to discuss supply and demand and how revenue should exceed expenses in order to net a profit. The profits will be utilized to increase vocational exposure for students, incorporate additional materials to learn additional job skills, as well as maintain the order of supplies for the business. The coffee bistro will be run by students, and the merchandise will be sold to staff and guests of the district in order to be in compliance with school policy.
The students will learn about transferable and technical job skills and be able to take those skills out into the community to obtain competitive and/or supported employment as adults.
