My Project

My students are high school juniors and seniors with special needs who are preparing for life beyond the classroom. In our life skills program, we cook, clean, manage laundry, learn to budget, and practice communication and teamwork. Each day is hands-on, real, and full of small victories that build big confidence.

The MacBook Pro will help bring these lessons to life.

We’ll use it to plan weekly cooking menus, create visual recipe guides, track laundry schedules, practice digital budgeting, and even build simple resumes. It will also allow me to document progress, track IEP goals, and share students’ successes with families in real time. For students who need step-by-step visuals or communication support, technology helps them see and understand each part of a process — turning daily routines into powerful lessons in independence.

How This Will Help Students:

This project is all about giving my students the tools to live, work, and thrive on their own. With the MacBook, they’ll practice the same digital and practical skills they’ll need in adult life — from looking up a recipe to comparing prices online to creating a presentation about their dream job. The HDMI adapter and stand will make it easy for the whole class to follow along during lessons and see visual instructions clearly.

Your donation will help my students build confidence in themselves and pride in their work.
