Building Hope and Big Ideas in a Remote Alaska Classroom

My Project

What I love most about my students is their resilience, creativity, and willingness to help one another. Growing up in rural Alaska, my middle schoolers learn early how to problem-solve, adapt, and persevere. They bring these strengths into the classroom every day, even when access to learning resources is limited due to our remote location.

The LEGO SPIKE set will give my students a powerful, hands-on way to learn.

Through building and coding robots, my students will strengthen critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills while exploring real-world STEM concepts. These materials will allow my students to test ideas, learn from mistakes, and experience the excitement of seeing their code come to life.

For my students, this isn’t just about robotics—it’s about discovering their potential and realizing that their ideas can reach far beyond our classroom and community.
