My Students
Our school has a global education focus, which encourages students to learn about other cultures, make responsible decisions, and challenge stereotypes and misinformation. They are taught how to be lifelong learners and contributors of society.
The diversity of my classroom provides so many opportunities for not only me to learn and grow as an educator but for them to constantly learn from each other.
Each day my 24 students come to school ready to learn and grow as scholars and I prepare them for the rest of their life as scholars and global citizens.
My Project
Teaching third grade there is a big jump in the rigor of the curriculum and many students begin to shut down when faced with these new challenges. This conference will help me to handle these difficulties. It will give me applicable tools to build grit in my classroom.
Growth mindset teaches students that the brain is a muscle that needs to be exercised to learn and we learn from our mistakes.
I want help in implementing this philosophy into all parts of my school day. They will also give strategies to teach self-regulation and help students manage their emotions. These are skills students will need both in and outside the classroom.
