Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

By the end of 2020 there will be more than 1,400,000 jobs in computer science in the United States. It is predicted that there will be around 400,000 computer science students prepared for those jobs (stats from code.org) We need to start getting students ready for these careers now!

Most of my students come from low income families with little to no access to technology at home.

Our school does it's best to provide students with opportunities and resources that they do not have at home. We make sure they get a good breakfast and lunch at school and have as many learning opportunities as possible throughout the day. Our students, parents and staff are passionate about giving students the chance to meet their potential and have bright futures.

My Project

I am requesting to receive Wonder Workshop's Dash and Dot. I want to give my current and future students exposure to computer science and the potential career opportunities this field provides. My students will be able to use coding to move Dash and Dot. They will be able to apply their creativity and problem solving to a concrete, real-world, example.

You donation could provide a life changing experience for my students, by getting my students excited about careers in the STEM field.

I want to expose my students to as many potential career opportunities as possible to ensure that they have they bright futures that every single one of them is capable of.
