This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I'm a high school teacher who is the advisor for the student-led Gender and Sexuality Alliance club.
The club aims to create a safe, welcoming, and accepting school environment for all youth, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Having this safe space for LGBTQiA+ students and allies, is so important due to the harassment, discrimination and misunderstandings about sexual orientation and gender identities.
This friendship building project gives GSA members the opportunity to get to know each better and the freedom to express their identities through art and fashion.
