This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are middle school and high school students who are mostly of Hispanic and African-American cultures, who live in a low-income area, where they do not get exposed to enough hands-on skills and activities. My students are curious learners. They want hands-on activities that will keep their attention and help them learn academic cooperative and social skills in a fun way. My students are happy and want to have materials that stimulate their minds. Sometimes all it takes is exposure to fun learning processes and activities to open up motivation and a drive to learn more and ask more questions. My students have endless possibilities if given the chance and encouragement.
My Project
These materials, board games, and puzzles will be used to build thinking skills, to create and build social skills, and to build friendship in the library. By having these materials in the library for students, the students will benefit from being actively engaged in cooperative and social learning experiences.
The library is not just a place for reading books, but a place where students can come to build friendly relationships and social skills.
These asked for materials will help build social experiences that the students greatly need and also help to make the library a fun and welcoming area to come to.
