Help me give my students the Scholastic News subscription, so they have a new, fun way to become fluent readers! These resources will help they stay and become engaged in their reading.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Duplooy's classroom raised $196
This project is fully funded
My Students
I teach an inclusion 1st grade classroom. There is a large range of interests in my room, some students enjoy reading about cars, animals, weather, the human body, and even volcanoes and earthquakes. My students need all the exposure they can get to become expressive fluent readers.
My students love to read and I want to make sure they keep that love of reading with new and exciting materials from everyday experiences through scholastic magazines.
My students enjoy colorful and detailed reading materials and are just as colorful and detailed in their own work.
My Project
These scholastic magazines will give my first grade students new and exciting materials to help them become more fluent readers. The content from these resources will be able to expand their knowledge of the world and people around them.
These magazines will give my students a way to experience the world around them from inside the classroom, as well as help them become better readers.
Students will use these magazines for research on science topics, environmental studies, and popular relevant worldly topics. Students will be able to use these articles as exemplars for their own writing pieces. The students will be able to create informational projects and papers using different articles from these magazines.
