Building Executive Function with Classroom Organization

My Project

Our amazing kindergartners come to school each day ready to learn and connect. To help teach organizational skills and promote executive functioning, we are hoping to add a set of student mailboxes to our classroom. This mailbox system comes with slots and trays for each student to organize papers and folders that go home each day. My utilizing a mailbox system, students will gain independence while also strengthening executive functioning skills.

A well-organized classroom can significantly help with executive functioning, as it reduces cognitive load, minimizes distractions, and provides visual cues that support students in planning, managing their time, and staying focused on tasks, which are all key aspects of executive function skills.

With your help, we will be able to minimize lost time, increase learning time, and aid in strengthening those vital executive function skills by adding this mailbox system to our kindergarten classroom!
