My Project
Help us inspire a generation of empathetic learners by supporting our Eagle 7 Challenge Book Club! We need books that will open minds and hearts, encouraging students to see the world through the eyes of others.
We are focused on providing our students with books that highlight diverse perspectives, tackle important social issues, and spark meaningful discussions.
Through these books, students will gain insight into the experiences of others, from different cultures and backgrounds to individuals overcoming challenges. They will build critical thinking skills by analyzing characters’ choices, motivations, and growth. More importantly, they’ll practice putting themselves in someone else’s shoes, a skill that extends far beyond the classroom.
However, we can’t do this without your support. Together, we can empower these young readers to grow as thoughtful, kind, and socially aware individuals.
Every page we turn will bring us closer to creating a more compassionate world. Thank you for helping us make this vision a reality.
Refugee by Alan Gratz is a gripping novel that follows the stories of three young refugees from different time periods and regions, each facing life-or-death challenges as they flee their homes in search of safety. The book intertwines the experiences of Josef, a Jewish boy escaping Nazi Germany in 1939; Isabel, a Cuban girl fleeing political unrest in 1994; and Mahmoud, a Syrian boy escaping the violence of the civil war in 2015. Through their harrowing journeys, the novel explores themes of survival, bravery, and the universal desire for freedom and safety. Refugee powerfully highlights the struggles of displaced children and the resilience of the human spirit.
