Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a kindergarten teacher, I know how critical it is to support not just academic growth, but also the emotional well-being of my students. Many of my young learners are navigating big feelings, new routines, and important social milestones for the first time, and books are one of the most powerful tools I can use to guide them.
That’s why I’m requesting a variety of social-emotional learning book sets, including A Little SPOT book bundle with mini plush toys, the Kindness & Compassion collection, and neurodiversity-affirming titles like Too Much and Supposed to Be Sunny.
These books will help students build empathy, understand their feelings, and learn how to interact with others in healthy, respectful ways.
I’m especially excited to bring in bilingual Spanish-English titles that reflect the identities of many of my students, ensuring that all children see themselves in the stories we read. With your support, I will be able to create a rich, inclusive classroom library that fosters belonging, emotional awareness, and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
