it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love most about my students is their openness to learning, even when life gets tough. Each child brings their own unique experiences, challenges, and emotions into the classroom, I admire their creativity, curiosity, and how they support one another when someone is feeling down. Watching them grow not only academically but emotionally makes every day meaningful. They remind me how important it is to have a safe, nurturing environment where they feel seen, heard, and valued.
To support their emotional well-being, I use tools like Legos, Uno, and stickers to help students decompress during tough moments.
These resources offer more than just play—they give students a chance to reset, express themselves, and regain a sense of calm. Legos help them focus their energy and encourage creativity, giving their minds a break from stress. Uno provides a simple way to build connection and laughter with others, which is especially helpful when they're feeling upset.
Stickers may seem small, but they bring big smiles. They offer encouragement and recognition. When a student is having a rough day, choosing a sticker or spending a few quiet minutes with a familiar game can make a big difference. These tools allow students to self-regulate, build emotional awareness, and feel empowered to take control of their emotions. With your support, we can continue to provide these calming and comforting resources, ensuring every student has the space they need to feel safe and supported.
