Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with an incredible group of bilingual, special education students, ages 5 to 8, many of whom are first-language Spanish speakers and most of whom are on the autism spectrum. My students face unique challenges in both communication and emotional regulation, and it is my goal to provide them with the resources they need to succeed. The items I am requesting will make a profound difference by supporting sensory processing, language development, and social-emotional learning.

These tools are essential in helping them regulate their emotions and behaviors, so they can participate fully in their learning.

Additionally, bilingual resources for language development will help bridge any gaps in communication, supporting both English and Spanish-speaking students in their understanding of academic concepts and their ability to express themselves.

The social-emotional learning materials I am requesting will help students build self-awareness and emotional regulation skills, enabling them to better understand their feelings and communicate effectively with others. These resources will be especially beneficial for students with autism, helping them improve social interactions, cooperation, and empathy.

By providing them with the appropriate tools and resources, my students will continue to thrive in a supportive, bilingual, and inclusive environment. Your support will help make this possible and give my students the opportunity to reach their full potential.
