I teach an amazing class of diverse students who love to learn and are always excited to try new educational experiences. We are part of a Title I Early Education School in Brooklyn, NY, that includes Pre-K through grade 2. My incredible Pre-K class is made up of English Language Learners, some special education students, many different cultures, and lots of wonderful personalities.
We learn best by using our imagination and our hands.
We like to do hands-on work to encourage discussions, discovery, vocabulary, and keep us engaged. Working with partners and groups, we learn to problem solve and be part of a team. We create a learning environment that is interesting and allows us to build on each other's strengths.
My Project
STEAM Education includes Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics to help build student’s inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking skills. Help me build an Engineering component to our STEAM center in my classroom to enhance student learning. These different heavy-duty blocks will be used for many years for students to develop theme related creations.
Having magnetic, bamboo and bristle blocks will support students' engagement in experiential learning, persistence in problem-solving, collaboration, and encourage students to work through the creative process using varied materials while improving spatial reasoning skills.
Primary students need hands-on supplies to manipulate and enhance their learning. The different animals will make building homes and structures more fun. These resources will provide my students with the opportunity to solve real-life problems through hands-on applications and improve their spatial reasoning skills.
