Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from a various backgrounds that need help. Now that Hurricane Harvey not only hit Houston but my school as well, we need help. My students are very creative and innovative. The classes are mixed with special needs students. They can make something from literally nothing, and living in a low income community plus not having much is a challenge, but my students keep pressing through despite the odds packed against them. Our school is considered to be 100% free and reduced lunch because of the poverty level. My students income level is so low that they receive assistance from the Houston food Bank & Backpack buddies so that that can have food to eat on the weekends when they are not at school.

My students are imaginative, creative, and fun.

My students are willing to learn and create despite all of the everyday obstacles they face.

My Project

My students deserve access to all the basic artistic supplies that children need to build creative minds that innovate our future.

These materials will be used by the students to express themselves through drawing & painting after they write about how they feel about there Hurricane Harvey experience.

We are striving to meet meet each students learning needs & styles. Art is a great way to calm down dream again and have fun learning through self expression and creatativity.

Thank you in advance for helping or students when they need you the most. This is an investment in a great project.
