My Project
As an art educator and the Fine Arts Seal Coordinator for my school, I support students in creating meaningful, portfolio-ready work that reflects their voices, cultures, and lived experiences. From digital painting to video storytelling and graphic design, our students are developing the creative skills that will empower them to shape the future—and share their perspectives in ways that are both powerful and personal.
To continue doing this work effectively, I need a MacBook Pro that can handle the professional-grade programs I use in my teaching and professional development courses.
My current school Chromebook simply cannot run essential creative tools like Adobe Creative Suite, which I utilize in photography and graphic design lessons, building student resources, and presenting at professional development workshops for other art educators.
This MacBook Pro will allow me to take full advantage of advanced professional learning courses this summer, which will in turn directly impact how I support my students—especially those pursuing the Fine Arts diploma seal. I guide them through the process of curating their work, developing artist statements, and using digital platforms to share their stories with pride and professionalism.
Supporting this project means investing in the professional development of a dedicated educator working to stay current with industry-standard tools and instructional strategies. With access to this MacBook Pro, I’ll be able to fully participate in advanced courses that focus on digital arts, storytelling, and inclusive curriculum design—ensuring that what I learn directly enriches the experiences of my students.
This device will also allow me to design and share best practices with other art educators, especially in the areas of student voice, creative equity, and culturally responsive teaching in the arts.
