My Project
The world is a vast, amazing place. An amazing place that needs creative problem solvers with determination, persistence and confidence. Students need safe and fun ways to try new things, take on challenges, and persevere even when things are tough. Problem solving games, puzzles and creative building are great ways to develop this.
My students are true gems, even if some may still be diamonds in the rough.
My school is a public school in a high poverty area, with a very diverse student population. There are roughly 25 languages spoken in the homes of the students. Approximately 80% of the students are on free and reduced lunch. Many of my students come from families struggling to meet even basic needs. Yet my students eagerly come in every day, ready for new discoveries and new challenges.
Because of the positive attitudes towards learning that are being fostered here, my students feel safe enough to take risks and try challenging things. I want to continue to encourage these learners every step of the way with as many experiences and opportunities as possible. These games, puzzles and building activities will help me do just that.
