This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hello! I am fortunate enough to represent my school's track team. We will be in need of new equipment and training materials for this upcoming school year. As a title I campus, these students are hard working and look forward to representing their community in a positive way.

We are in need of new equipment to replace items that has been lost while these students have been moving from place to place due to the Coronavirus and school closures.

Our athletes have been devastated, as all of us are, with the change of routine and normalcy. My goal is to have something fresh and new for them as we start our season. The new equipment and training supplies will allow us to grow in confidence as the season progresses.

If this project is fully funded, it will allow us to use our other funds to re-vamp our equipment and allow our athletes to move on with a sense of excitement and pride!

My Project

Building confidence in student-athletes is a a full time job. During a pandemic, it is even more daunting. Students will often look to others to help them attain their goals. As a coach, I constantly strive to put them in the right situations for them to gain confidence for the event they are committed to. Our current training inventory does not satisfy the entire team in group settings. It is vital for my athletes to work in groups so that we can address common problems in a particular exercise but praise growth and hard work efficiently.

Giving my athletes access to these medicine balls will allow them to enhance their power and explosiveness output on the track.

More powerful and explosive athletes on the track gives them the confidence they desire to excel in other aspects of their lives. As a coach, nothing brings more joy to me than to see my athletes grow in confidence as the season progresses. Part of their new sense of worth is also the gear they carry. They are proud to wear the La Porte uniform and represent their community. In the past, we have not had enough backpacks to allow them to carry their equipment with them during track meets.

Giving my athletes new backpacks will add to the overall value they feel as a student-athlete. Often, my athletes will use these backpacks for school. My goal as a coach is to give my students what they need to be successful. Your donation will impact my student-athletes in a way that can stay with them for a lifetime.
