Building Community With Science Collaboration

Help me give my students the opportunity to work in collaborative groups to investigate the scientific world around them. With the Mineral and Fossil lab, they will learn about the world that is right under their feet.

My Project

Students must learn how to work collaboratively. The past two years have been a very isolating time, even at school. Because of mitigation plans, students did not work in groups. This is a skill that will be necessary as they continue with school and eventually their career.

Working in groups to solve a problem will foster a sense of community and help the students learn not only science curriculum but also valuable social skills.

With these materials, they will foster these vital skills in an engaging, student-led fashion that will be valuable to them beyond their school years.
