Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This school year, I had to borrow a rug for the kindergarten classroom—but as I plan for next year, I’m hoping to make a more permanent investment. A classroom rug may seem simple, but it plays a huge role in early childhood learning.
In kindergarten, so much of our day happens on the rug: morning meetings, read-alouds, partner discussions, group activities, and brain breaks.
It’s a place where students gather as a community and where learning feels warm and welcoming. A good rug helps define a safe, comfortable space where little learners can focus, interact, and grow.
Your support would help provide my students with a soft, inviting space where they can feel at home, build friendships, and stay engaged. Every contribution—big or small—helps make a difference.
