This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teaching character isn't fun when you don't have enough books to set the scene. The first few days of school were awesome because we had enough books, but now coming up with scenarios isn't easy. "Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character... that is the true goal in education." MLK

Working in a Title One school is always a challenge.

The students don't have the character traits to be successful in school and teaching them these is a necessity. Our days would run smoother when students behaved and respected each other. This is why it is my goal to teach these traits to these students.

My Project

I will read-aloud these books on a day to day basis during our Family Time. The students will get to discuss the book, and write about what they learned from the book. They will also be expected to carry-on the lesson they learned with their daily life. They are to practice the trait learned in the classroom, in the playground, at home, and in the real world.

With the help of donors, my students will be able to learn these traits through amazing books.

They will be exposed to new books and authors. These books will be the guide to building their own character.
