Building Brighter Minds: Outdoor Block Play for Creative Learning
Help me give my students log builders and blocks that will allow them to build together, take creative risks, and explore new ideas in a natural setting that supports both physical and cognitive development.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Project Description:
Imagine a classroom without walls—where children can build, create, and learn in the fresh air.
That’s exactly what I’m working to create for my students. I am seeking support to bring outdoor building blocks into our learning space to help transform our outdoor area into a dynamic, hands-on environment where creativity and collaboration flourish.
Outdoor logs and blocks are more than just toys—they are powerful tools for learning. Through block play, children develop essential skills in problem-solving, spatial awareness, teamwork, communication, and early engineering concepts. These blocks will allow students to build together, take creative risks, and explore new ideas in a natural setting that supports both physical and cognitive development.
As I continue to enhance our outdoor learning environment, these materials will offer meaningful opportunities for students to engage in imaginative play and cooperative learning. The ability to move, construct, and design with large-scale materials outside encourages active participation and brings learning to life.
