Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At my Title I school, I work with students in grades K–5, many of whom are English Learners. LEGO DUPLO sets will provide meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that support language development and help all students express themselves through building. These resources will foster communication, collaboration, and creative thinking across all grade levels.

Because DUPLOs are medium-sized, they are especially helpful for younger students, giving them the time and ability to create something meaningful within a class period—something that's often difficult with smaller, regular LEGO bricks.

The sets will be available for all students to use and can be checked out by teachers to support classroom instruction. DUPLOs will be integrated into various subjects. For example, in social studies, students can build communities while learning about community helpers. In science, they can design habitats for animals or design a shelter against severe weather.

These versatile materials will spark creativity, build essential skills, and make learning more engaging for every student in our school.
