Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergartners are curious, imaginative, and full of energy. Every day, they enter the classroom ready to explore, build, and learn about the world around them. They thrive when given opportunities to use their hands and minds to make sense of new concepts.

Many of my students are experiencing STEM learning for the first time in school.

They’re eager to take on challenges, ask questions, and figure out how things work, but we need more materials to make that happen in meaningful ways. This project will give my students a variety of STEM building toys like magnetic tiles, gears, interlocking bricks, and engineering kits that allow them to create, design, and problem-solve through play.

During STEM centers and free exploration time, students will have the chance to design structures, experiment with balance and symmetry, and explore cause and effect—all while having fun and learning through hands-on experiences.
