My Project

We are getting our first ever STEAM room and these items will serve a multitude of students. We are starting this journey and this room so that other teachers can bring their students to enjoy and interact with these items!

This project aims to implement an interdisciplinary STEAM learning program that engages students in hands-on, collaborative problem-solving manipulatives and experiences.

With a focus on k-2nd grade students, the program will integrate arts into science and technology education to foster creativity, critical thinking, and digital literacy.

Our students are curious, hands-on learners who thrive when given opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) in meaningful, engaging ways. To nurture their creativity and problem-solving skills, we need a variety of STEAM manipulatives that will bring abstract concepts to life and encourage collaborative exploration.

Our goal for these manipulatives is to provide support for STEAM-based centers and small group instruction across the curriculum. They will help students explore cause and effect, spatial reasoning, mathematical relationships, and basic engineering principles.

These tools allow students to tinker, create, and revise—skills essential to STEAM learning and future success.

With these materials, I can better foster inquiry, teamwork, and resilience. Our students will not only deepen their academic understanding but also gain the confidence to think like scientists, engineers, and designers. These experiences will help close the opportunity gap and open doors to future STEAM careers.
