Help me give my students hands-on learning materials and storage for materials to spark curiosity, support early literacy, and build strong foundations in science, technology, engineering, and math
I teach an amazing group of first graders at a Title I STEM school, where many of our students come from underserved communities. Despite the challenges they may face outside of the classroom, they come to school each day full of energy, curiosity, and a love of learning.
Our project focuses on building essential STEM skills—problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity—through hands-on, inquiry-based learning.
The STEM building materials in our cart will allow students to engage in interactive projects where they can design, build, and test ideas, bringing abstract concepts to life in a fun and meaningful way. These experiences directly support our learning goals in science and engineering and help students develop confidence in their ability to innovate.
The headphones will allow each student to focus during digital learning activities, which are a key part of our individualized math and reading instruction. Many of our students need extra support in these areas, and being able to concentrate without distraction helps them work independently and make meaningful academic progress.
The shelves will provide a much-needed solution to keep our materials organized and accessible. This fosters student independence, encourages responsibility, and helps maximize our limited classroom space for learning and collaboration.
