My Project

Building Bridges: IB & Social-Emotional Development will establish a vital classroom library, connecting IB Learner Profile attributes with essential social-emotional learning (SEL) skills. We aim to nurture well-rounded, compassionate students by providing access to carefully selected books.

These books will serve as bridges between academic learning and emotional understanding.

They will illustrate the IB Learner Profile in action, developing crucial SEL skills like empathy, self-awareness, and relationship building. Stories will provide a safe space to explore complex emotions, fostering critical thinking and reflection. Engaging narratives will ignite a love of reading and provide practical emotional regulation tools.

My primary goals are to create an integrated IB/SEL library, seamlessly incorporate these books into our curriculum, cultivate a caring classroom environment, and equip students with lifelong emotional tools. I aim to increase student understanding and implementation of the IB learner profile. Ultimately, we want to foster a love of learning and a commitment to personal growth.

My students are a diverse group of curious, kind, and supportive individuals. They are future global citizens, eager to learn and make a positive impact. Their capacity for empathy and willingness to support each other is truly remarkable. We are dedicated to providing them with the resources they need to build bridges between their minds and hearts, enabling them to thrive as compassionate, successful learners.
