My Project

In preschool, I have multiple areas in my classroom for learning. I have an art area, writing center, library, science area, and dramatic play. However, one of the most popular areas is my block area. This is an area I keep different kinds of blocks for building, as well as animals, signs, and people. The most popular thing in my block area would be my basket of magna tiles. I have seen some amazing things done with magna tiles. Kids have created houses, towers taller than them that they measure, roads to drive on, animal cages, and even letters!

I want to give my kiddos a variety of magna tiles that they can continue to learn and express themselves in more ways than imaginable.

Magna-tiles can be used for so many things and always tend to be so popular. I want my kiddos to be able to all play together to build social skills, problem solving skills, and even math skills. Magna-tiles can be used to build shapes such as two triangles to make a diamond or two squares to make a rectangle. I also have cards that show all the letters they can build. They can also measure things and just be creative all around. We live in Michigan and this year I had a kiddo build the Mackinaw bridge using wooden blocks and magna-tiles. It was AMAZING. I want to be able to give my kiddos different kinds of magna tiles to be as creative as they want as well as learn through building!
