My Project

These stories and books were chosen to represent all the backgrounds and diverse lives my students live. As a science teacher, my library has mostly been reference books and field guides. This collection will allow students to build their love of reading in my room as well as the literacy room.

Representation and relevance matter to students; these books will bring both of these into our classroom library.

Books that have characters that students can connect to build a love of reading and a love of growing from that connection and that character's choices. Relevant books that students can picture and imagine will engage and support every reader.
