My Students

Do you remember being in kindergarten? What an exciting time it is to actually go to school for the first time! You probably went to a school with a big bright classroom. The teacher had many things for you to play with. Imagine the centers and material your teacher had just waiting to greet you.

I have 16 eager learners this year.

All of my students receive a free lunch. Our school is located in a high poverty area. Despite what my students lack financially, they are so ready to learn this year. My students enjoy school and want to be there everyday in my classroom.

My Project

This year budget cuts have really made a difference in what our school district can give our schools. We teachers must continue to dig even deeper in our pockets to provide the most basic materials for our students. This year I would like to give my students a fun and creative activity that every kindergartner should have..Blocks! I think the blocks would be a great addition to our classroom. Blocks are one of the first centers my students will learn to use this year. The children must learn how to get along and share with others. My students will also have an opportunity to socialize with their peers. This is a huge challenge for my children this school year because so many of them have never been to school or daycare. The blocks are also good for their motor skills and creativity.

Bringing a creative center to my classroom would mean a lot for my students.
