Building Blocks, Building Futures

My students need 3 Lego building kits. I would like to obtain for them a set of basic building bricks, a set for building a town, and a set of community workers.

This project is fully funded

I teach a special needs classroom for emotionally disturbed 3-5 graders in a low-income public school in San Francisco.

This is a new classroom designed to meet the growing need for students of this nature. I have no supplies for constructive play. My teaching assistant let us borrow some Lego from her child for a few days and the kids loved it.

Now that I know how great these can be for kids, I would love to get a set for the classroom. Constructing free form objects provides a productive, error-free opportunity for kids to safely express themselves and focus in a relaxed way. Also, we could use the Lego community workers to reinforce social studies concepts around community and civil service.

Your donation would make it possible for me to provide my students with opportunities for creative play that they otherwise wouldn't have. A lot of these kids don't have educational toys at home. I hope you will consider making a donation to fund this project. Thanks!
