My Students

My students are fifth grade students who attend a neighborhood school in a rural/suburban community. The majority of my students live within walking distance of our school. The majority of the children are able to read, write, and perform mathematics at grade level by fifth grade. As a result, our students need higher level challenges to keep them engaged and motivated.

My students are motivated and appreciate the challenge of going beyond the basic curriculum to enhance their learning.

By using the Daily Math Fluency kit my students will be able to take their learning to a higher level.

My Project

Many students are able to complete computation problems in mathematics without actually having a deep understanding of the concepts of mathematics. By contributing to my project, you will help me to purchase the Math fluency kit and materials needed to assist my students with developing these deeper understandings through demonstration, modeling, and hands on learning. These concepts developed in elementary school will support my students as they move to advanced math classes in middle and high school.

Improving Math fluency helps children develop numeracy and the ability to use mathematical relationships to reason with numbers and numerical concepts.

Using the Daily Math Fluency kit will allow me to help my students master fluency strategies using visual models and manipulatives.
