Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am presenting these items with great excitement to seek your support for an important project in my Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classroom. We are hoping to add a mini trampoline, a balance beam, and a set of child-sized stilts to our outdoor and indoor play spaces. These tools may look like toys, but they offer so much more—they are powerful resources for developing gross motor skills, focus, balance, and coordination.
My goal is to create an environment where my students can move their bodies in meaningful ways that support their overall development and prepare their brains for academic learning.
My students are bright, curious, and full of energy. Many of them are English learners, and physical activity plays a vital role in helping them regulate their energy, build confidence, and engage in learning. Movement-based play gives them an outlet for expression, encourages social interaction, and builds the foundational motor skills that support reading, writing, and attention. These items would be especially helpful in supporting sensory needs, promoting self-regulation, and making our classroom a joyful, inclusive space where every child can thrive.
