Helping to eliminate barriers to education.

My room helps support the needs of our students and their families. At our school, we strive to make sure that any barriers to education for the student and their families are addressed, in order to make education the main focus for the students. Families should not have to worry about their students not having school supplies, hygiene products, and/or the clothing needed to attend school on a daily basis. Most of the students who attend are from low-income families who do not always have the means to get needed items. The families shouldn't have to worry about picking between buying clothing or food. Some families can't afford to buy the basics and that is where I step in. I love being able to give the families needed resources and seeing the relief it brings them and the students.

My Project

The items that are being requested will be for our PBIS program. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day.

PBIS creates schools where all students succeed.

The store will allow students who have collected points throughout the year spend them on items they enjoys such as games, art supplies, snacks, school gear, and other special rewards. I'm really looking forward to starting this rewards program. Thank you for your help!
