This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, we currently have an eSports team that is one of the highest-ranked in the state for Overwatch 2 and Super Smash Bros. My students have had to practice, play matches, and compete against other schools - with their own devices and at home most of the time. This has made it very difficult to coordinate amongst ourselves for rankings, playing time, etc. - and our students do not get the social-emotional connection with one another that other schools are getting from their eSports programs.

By acquiring a few controllers and the tech needed to stream our games, my students will be able to collaborate with their peers and finally gain the equity they deserve when compared to local schools.

Please help us allow our students that chance, to expand our eSports program and to truly flourish as a program. We would all be very appreciative!
