Building a World Class Photography Program for High School Students

My Project
My name is David Lackey, and I am part of the aspiring teacher program at Tulsa Public School. I have a photography degree from OSUIT and am currently working towards my bachelor's degree. I have been a professional photographer for 15 years now and have taken photos and been published all over the world.
Last year, as a full-time long-term substitute, I rewrote the curriculum for the music history class at Memorial High School.
The program was a MASSIVE success. 95% of all the students passed with an A or B, while providing them with new knowledge on how music works. I was then hired full-time as a new teacher in the Art department, and I am getting to build my photography class.
Memorial has not had a photography class in decades, and it will be a welcome addition to the growing arts department, fulfilling my lifelong goal to be a teacher. I look forward to educating the students on the importance of Photography and Art in the world. I have already reached out to local artists, photographers, and educators who would love to be a part of this program to teach kids about programs in college and professional jobs that they can look forward to.
As you may know, the arts are GREATLY underfunded here in Oklahoma, and there is no budget for the program. Donations keep programs like this alive and any donation, no matter how big or small, is MASSIVELY appreciated and will go towards furthering education in our school.
