Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating such as stools helps give our students a sense of community and ownership in the classroom. They can choose their seating option which in turn helps them focus more on their learning. Some days we need to wiggle a bit, other days we need to be able to feel comfortable and sit on something soft. The wooden stools will be an addition to our flexible seating already in the classroom. Students can have a sense of community in our classroom.

Choice helps them feel some control over their environment.

With all the changes we are going through with this pandemic, kids are having their world turn upside down at times. I think that having some type of control will help them be more open to learning and working with others.

Flexible seating helps students feel more comfortable therefore they will stay on task more often. The more comfortable they are, the more willing to learn.
