Help me give my students these titles that will foster community during Blended Instruction.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located between two large housing developments.
A large percentage of the school's population comes from low-income homes where parents are struggling to support their families.
Many are from single-parent or English as a second language homes. A percentage are even from homeless shelters. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Our school is a community school and for many of our students, it's a home away from home. Some students stay at school well into the evening hours participating in after school programs, clubs or sports teams. Many of our families look at our school as a home away from home as well. Our food pantry supplies food and necessities to our families. Doctors visit the school on a regular basis to check vision and provide dental exams.
My Project
During the 2020 – 2021 school year our school will be doing a Blended Learning program. Students will be in the school building two or three days a week and learn remotely at home for the remaining days. During blended instruction we will continue to have the Book of the Month Program. The purpose of the Book of the Month Program is to bring the school community together as readers and learners through a common text. It helps to unify the school and create a literacy learning community
Each title selected fosters a positive theme or character trait such as, confidence or overcoming obstacles.
Each month every student in the school hears a common text, and engages in learning, thinking, and responding to the shared text. When the whole school reads the same title there is a connection between the students and teachers. The selected book titles from this project will enhance our Book of the Month Program. It will help us build a community of learners even during blended learning. Each class will be provided with one print copy of the text. Teachers will have the opportunity to read the title as a shared reading in the classroom or remotely with students. Teachers will also be able to record themselves reading the text and share it on their google classroom for students to watch and review at another time. Students can also go back to the selection when they are responding to the text in a writing piece.
