Building a Science Library

My students need science based books and materials to deepen their understanding of scienctific concepts.

My Students

My students are a fun and diverse group of learners who LOVE to discover new things!!! Not only have they created amazing science projects this year, but they have also read over 1,000,000 words each quarter! That's over 3,000,000 words so far! They work hard and thrive on challenges.

My students make up one of the most unique classrooms you will ever find!

We serve students from all walks of life. Whether they live in one of Atlanta's high-rise condos or one of the local homeless shelters, this is school is home for all types of learners and educators!

My Project

Our classroom library is filled with wonderful fiction books. However, students are constantly looking for new informational texts that just are not available. With these materials, students will be able to read science based texts on each of the topics taught in the third grade. They will also be able to use the rocks and fossil materials to experience hands-on discovery that has never been possible before!

With district and state budget cuts, many of the science materials that were once available to students are becoming very difficult to find.

This project will give my students access to new information and hands-on materials to improve their learning and better prepare them for their futures. These 21st century learners will be so excited to see all of their new learning materials!
