Building A Readers Library

Help me give my students control over their emotions and reading choices to grow their love of reading.

My Project

The classroom library is missing a graphic novel section for my students. These books will help bring the student's imagination to life as they drift away into a reader's life. Also adding the Chose Your Adventure mystery series will be a great class read-aloud series during the mystery unit at the beginning of the next year.

Containing big feelings is tough for 3rd graders as they are growing up.

Adding these books to the calm down corner/regulation camping stop will help them develop a shelf regulation mindset.

The sands of time will provide students control over their reading time. The classroom personal hourglass timers and a set of various times for the calming corner will be a great way to teach them to be responsible for their actions.
