Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work in an equity focused school where we are trying to get most of the students up to their grade level reading level. I have found starting getting them to read is the most important part. If they build that love for reading they will start to pick up the bigger and longer books.

The books I picked for the project are both personal and student requests for our classroom library.

I am trying to take their input in books so I see them reading more and that they enjoy it. I may be the math teacher, but my goal is to make sure that every student in my class has a book that they can name as their favorite by the end of the school year.
