Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I’m incredibly excited to begin my first year as a 4th-grade Language and Literacy teacher! As a new teacher starting from scratch, I’m working hard to create a warm, welcoming, and inspiring classroom where students can thrive. The materials I’m requesting will help me build my classroom from the ground up. These resources will make a real impact on our daily learning, allowing me to create meaningful, engaging lessons that support every student’s growth.
I am going to teach ELA to 3 rotations of 4th-grade classrooms.
Although my school gladly provides me with some materials, the materials included in my cart will help me organize and get started in my classroom. For example, I included the 48 pieces of pencil pouches because these will be in each desk as the different classes rotate. Since this is my first year teaching, I will need a lot of different storage organization to store student work as well as to support my organization for grading and planning purposes.
Additionally, there have been some small, inclusive decorations to make the classroom more vibrant and supportive, so that students can truly feel safe and at home in my classroom. Lastly, there have been a few things to help me with my time management, such as the bell and timer, which have worked well in my student teaching. Your support will help me create a structured, focused learning environment where routines are clear and distractions are reduced, allowing students to thrive.
Many of my students come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to our classroom. My goal is to foster a love of reading and writing by providing tools and resources that meet their individual needs. Anything you can give is truly appreciated.
