it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Intro
Our Music Club is immensely grateful for the support received so far.
The guitars from our first project jump-started the club, enabling students to practice independently and fostering a passion for music. The positive impact is evident, with some students now considering music programs in college and exploring music-related internships.
What I Love About My Students
Their diverse backgrounds bring an exciting mix of musical interests to the club. I enjoy discovering their favorite songs and artists, expanding my musical horizon in the process. One student, eagerly waiting until Ramadan's end to join us, moved me with his rendition of "Hold My Hand" by Lady Gaga, transforming my perception of the song. Music has become a powerful medium for connection and personal growth.
How Each Resource Will Help Them Learn
Our upcoming project seeks dynamic mics for performance singing, mic stands, and an electric guitar to prepare for an upcoming multicultural celebration. This equipment will aid students in interacting with different musical instruments, improving singing abilities, and building confidence for public performances. The gear will facilitate a metacognitive learning process, enhancing their musical journey.
My Goals For This Project
The project aims to provide students with instruments to collaborate and understand musical interactions. I'm particularly excited about the mics, which offer endless possibilities for performances. By normalizing musical performances, we hope to foster a supportive community where students feel empowered to express themselves. Moreover, providing resources for exploration and discovery aligns with our vision of enhancing students' school experience and building a vibrant, harmonious community.
