Building a More Inclusive Future: Supporting Advocacy and Inclusion
Help me give my students books that highlight characters on the autism spectrum and elevate their unique abilities and gifts for the world around them.
My multilingual Deaf students are amazing! At our Dual Language school, we strive to empower our students as Deaf individuals to be lifelong learners and innovative thinkers with diverse linguistic, ethnic, and cultural identities who are fluent in both American Sign Language and English. I need your help to ensure they have access to the best resources to support their development in biliteracy.
These diverse books, that elevate and empower autistic and neurodiverse characters, will help students recognize their own super powers and the things that make them unique!
By supporting advocacy and inclusion we are building a more inclusive future for all.
"As the world becomes smaller and increasingly diverse in its cultures and experiences, it is crucial that all children have access to books that serve as both windows and mirrors. Kids who see their own experiences reflected in books gain self-confidence, while reading about experiences that differ from their own helps kids develop healthy curiosity and empathy." - FirstBook Stories For All Project.
