This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The pretend food, cash register, play money, shopping bags, and stuffed animals will provide my students with hands-on tools to practice essential math skills such as adding, counting, sorting, and number recognition. These materials will make abstract concepts tangible, allowing my students to engage in real-world applications of math while also building social and problem-solving skills.
My goal is to create a dynamic, interactive mini-market that promotes independence, practical math skills, and social interaction.
Through this project, I aim to help my students build confidence in applying math concepts to everyday life, such as budgeting, making purchases, and organizing items. Ultimately, I want to prepare them for real-life situations and foster meaningful engagement in the classroom.
