My Students
My 25 amazing kindergarteners have an extreme amount of love for learning that I have never seen before! They love reading, writing, and doing math.
My school is located in the heart of a great neighborhood in Philadelphia.
We are a Title I public school that lacks the funding and the necessary resources, but we make do with what we do have.
My students have the desire to acquire knowledge and be engaged in the learning process. My goal is to support this intrinsic motivation with hands-on opportunities.
My Project
Problem solving is a skill that students need in life. They only learn this skill by doing and solving problems. By receiving the LEGOs and the Building Centers, my students will be able to solve problems and work together to achieve a particular goal. Though it helps with solving problems, it will also give them the openness to create in different ways, since all of our brains work differently.
With these products, my students will build, work cooperatively, and discuss how the projects are different and similar.
It will also allow my students to talk about how they can create a project that is even better in the future. That is what learning is all about!
