Building a Love for Reading with an Updated Classroom Library
Help me give my students a classroom library which will help them develop a love for reading. My wishlist includes graphic novels, early chapter books, and even history and science themed books which appeal to many students.

My Project
My goal teaching students in 2nd grade is to help them move from the "learning to read" phase, into the "loving to read" phase. Since I was out of the classroom for 9 years taking care of my family, my classroom library is a bit sparse and quite out of date, and my goal is to provide students with books that are currently a hot commodity.
I want my classroom library to be a place my students are excited to go!
Graphic Novels like Dog Man and Max Meow can draw in a reluctant reader. Branches books like Owl Diaries, Diary of a Pug, and The Last Firehawk provide an introduction to chapter books. Books like The Questioneers and I Survived appeal to students who have an interest in science and history.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
