This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my vibrant and inclusive classroom, we celebrate diversity every day.

With students who speak a variety of languages and hail from different corners of the globe, our learning environment is truly unique.

I’m fortunate to teach a compartmentalized grade with 44 students, where 16 students have IEPs, and many are working hard on their social learning skills.

To support every student’s journey, I’m excited to bring in a few key resources. Traditional timers help all students grasp the passage of time, a vital skill in both learning and daily life. Sensory timers are perfect for our calm-down corner, these timers allow students to choose what works best for them, helping those with emotional needs or ADHD find peace. Sensory strips are designed to calm anxious minds and ease stress, these will be a great addition to our toolkit for emotional well-being. SEL stories will help us explore important social concepts like grief, bullying, love, and kindness through engaging stories that resonate with young learners. Label stickers will keep our growing library organized, making it easier for students to find the books they love.
