My Project

While our students were online during COVID, many did not have access to reading materials at home. Most of our students have also experienced reading deficits that continue to impact their learning.

Currently, we do not have a school library and our students need access to books for independent reading practice.

We hope to use the books on our list as the start of a school wide library project. The Amazon Fire tablet will catalog books for digital check out so students can take the books home with them. The titles selected were chosen because they are books with will resonate with our students and offer high interest choices to encourage them read more.

Our students will have a chance to take ownership of the library through managing book check out and organization to fundraising to continue to build our collection.

We want all of our students to have a chance to check out books that they are excited to read. Our goal with starting our library is to inspire our students to read as much as they can to build skills that will be essential as they move through school and beyond.
